Free Wi-Fi For Copeton Northern Foreshores

FREE Wi-Fi is now available to all visitors to Copeton Northern Foreshores as part of the $5.7 million redevelopment of the tourist park thanks to a partnership between Inverell Shire Council and Telstra.
Council’s Mayor, Paul Harmon welcomed the announcement, saying that the addition of Wi-Fi to Copeton Northern Foreshores will attract more users to the area, and ensure the new and upgraded facilities are used to their full potential.
“We thank Telstra for supporting this exciting project, which is set to benefit thousands of visitors each year. Free Wi-Fi will be a welcome addition, helping visitors remain connected to the pulse of the internet while utilising the new and improved facilities during their stay.”
“It’s all about helping people stay in touch, share their experiences and latest catch via social media and also add the attraction of enjoying a lengthy stay at the dam.”
Telstra Air Head of Partnerships, Cade Herringe, says the partnership with Inverell Shire forms part of Telstra’s plan to bring world-class connectivity to the places people live and work through the expansion of the Telstra Air Wi-Fi network.
“This project is another example of Telstra co-investing with government to bring fast and reliable Wi-Fi to public spaces across the nation, and deliver innovative programs and services via the Telstra Air network.”
Visitors will have Wi-Fi coverage across the main recreational areas of the dam, including the kiosk, picnic areas, playground, splash-park and communal hall.
“Wi-Fi access points have been installed across the park, which will cover all the areas of the dam foreshores that were redeveloped under the $5.7 million park upgrade.”
“Users of any public Wi-Fi network need to ensure they are staying cyber-safe when utilising the common access point. This includes avoiding any sensitive transactions like banking, maintaining anti-virus protection, installing a trusted virus protection app, keeping software updated and having strong passwords.”
