Community & Recreation

Our community comprises rural and urban residents, including Shire villages of Ashford, Delungra, Gilgai, Bonshaw, and Yetman. Each community has forged its own unique identity and Council delivers a range of infrastructure and services to ensure our Shire vision of creating a community for everyone.

A vibrant community needs diversity, healthy lifestyles, as well as educational and work opportunities. Services and facilities are available to all who live and work in the Inverell Shire, including young people, ageing residents, and individuals with a disability.

Through encouraging sound urban design, appropriate development and investing in infrastructure, our communities will continue to grow and thrive.
