Smoke-Free Outdoor Public Places Policy
Council wish to advise that the Smoke-free Outdoor Public Places Policy will commence in Inverell on Monday, 12 December 2022. Signage has been erected indicating the smoke free area.
The policy prohibits smoking (including the use of electronic cigarettes) in the following outdoor public areas:
- Otho Street (between Rivers Street and Byron Street)
- Byron Street (between Campbell Street and Lawrence Street)
- Evans Street (between Otho Street and Campbell Street)
The Policy will supplement the existing provisions contained in the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000.
