2021 Youth Week brings us together more than ever

15 April 2021

KICKING off April 16, young residents aged 5 to 22 will be gearing up for a barrage of free youth activities as part of Inverell’s 2021 Youth Week program.

Inverell Shire Council mayor, Paul Harmon announced the two events that Council will have on offer until April 24, including a free game of tenpin bowling and a stand-up comedy workshop with comedian Anthony Lamond.

“Council is proud to be able to offer fun activities for our youth which help them to increase their skills, get out and enjoy their town and interact with likeminded people.”

“Tenpin Inverell will have the bowling balls polished and shoes laced, ready for our eager youth to participate in a free game from 20 April to 24 April.”

“We’re also thrilled to have stand-up comedy producer Anthony Lamond on board for Youth Week to share his knowledge with our local budding comedians”.

“Young people will have the chance to sign up for a free workshop with Anthony at Inverell Town Hall and learn more about the art of performing comedy”.

Mr Lamond has decades of on stage experience and has worked with high profile Australian comedians such as Dave Hughes and Jimeoin.

The theme of 2021 Youth Week, ‘Together more than ever’, encourages young people to connect with others and take part in their community, following a year that has provided enormous challenges, particularly for young people.

“We want our younger residents to feel celebrated for all they contribute to our shire, and I encourage all young community members to get involved where they can.”
