Youth Opportunities – Art Contest “Don’t Mess With Our Shire

As part of our youth events, primary school students enrolled in kindergarten through to year 6 were invited to participate in the Inverell Shire Council Art Contest.

The competition, which received a total of 136 entries invited local students to create artworks promoting an anti litter message “Don’t mess with our Shire”. The theme was selected to encourage the protection of our roadways, rivers and environment and inspire our future leaders to refrain from littering, advocate for litter prevention and keep Inverell beautiful.

Finalists were selected and had their art work on display at the Inverell Shire Library for residents to vote for their favourite art piece. The winning designs will have their art wrapped on general waste bins located around our shire. The locations will be;

  • Ashford
  • Gilgai
