Occasionally Council may require casual employees for short term or relief positions, both on the indoor and outdoor staff. Registration Forms are available from the reception desk at Council’s Administrative Centre. You may attach a resume to this form if you wish. Please leave your completed form at Council’s reception desk, or mail to PO Box 138, Inverell NSW 2360. You will be considered for any casual positions which become available. It is advisable to renew your Registration Form every six (6) months.

The objective of Council’s recruitment program is to select the best person for the job by matching applications to all criteria requirements of the position advertised and organisational needs. This information has been prepared to assist applicants to gain an appreciation of the skills and techniques involved in applying for job vacancies. Council is required under the Local Government (State) Award to advertise vacancies, in a manner to “enable suitably qualified persons to apply for the position”. This may be done by advertising internally or externally as decided by Council on a case by case basis.
Selection of staff is on the basis of the applicant’s merit in relation to the selection criteria. As such, applicants are advised to address in their application, the selection criteria for the position as outlined in the Information Package by detailing logically how they meet the requirements of each criteria.
