School holiday program filling up fast

2 July 2021

INVERELL Shire Council has rolled out a plethora of free youth activities these school holidays for those aged 8 to 24, thanks to funding from the NSW Government.

From a free screening of Fast & Furious 9 (M) and a free computer-aided design workshop, to free first aid courses and a free indoor sports day, there is something for everyone this July.

With only two youth events from the program with vacancies still available, May

“There are only 2 more youth events with spots available, including a free screening of Fast & Furious 9 (M) on Sunday 11 July for ages 15-24, and a free First Aid course on Sunday 25 July for ages 14-24.”

“With spaces filling up fast, I urge those wanting to participate to book in quickly.”

Following the announcement from the NSW Government last week, Cr. Harmon made it clear that masks must be worn by those partaking in all youth events as part of the mask mandate across all NSW regional areas.

“All participants will be required to wear face masks at our youth events to ensure the safety of our staff, the event organisers and those participating”, he said.

The mayor says he’s delighted with the popularity of the school holiday program, which has seen young people from across the shire participating.

“Our youth program has run two free first aid courses these school holidays, along with a 3D computer-aided design course and indoor sports challenge next week, and participants have come from Bonshaw, Tingha, Ashford, Delungra and Inverell,” Cr Harmon said.
