New Inverell Aquatic Centre Is Taking Shape
24 September 2024
THE new Inverell Aquatic Centre continues to be a hive of activity as construction heads towards completion.
Tilers have commenced tiling the walls of the 50-metre pool and pouring of the concrete for the splash pad will be completed later in the week, weather permitting.
Internal areas are also progressing with the majority of plaster work completed in preparation for fixtures and fittings to be installed, along with tiling works underway in the bathrooms.
The base layer of concrete for the Plant Room pipe work has been completed with construction of the Plant Room to commence shortly.
The Warm Water Program Pool is well under way with reinforcement steel being installed. The pool structure is scheduled to be poured next week.
Completion of the multi-million dollar facility is on schedule for commissioning in late December, with the official opening to be held in early January.
Council has entered into contract with Belgravia Leisure, who will commence operation of Ashford Swimming Pool and the Inverell Aquatic Centre as Facility Managers. The Company has an impressive resume of management experience and Council is looking forward to working with Belgravia Leisure for the benefit of the Community.
Ashford Swimming Pool will open to the public for the season on Tuesday 1st October.
