Free help for COVID-19 hit businesses

IN A rapidly changing business climate, Inverell Shire Council is urging local businesses to sign up for a free web-based seminar with consultant Peter Spinda this Friday, 3 April at 3.30pm.

Inverell was to host a visit from Mr Spinda in May, however, with the evolving COVID-19 restrictions, the e-commerce and business consultant has fast tracked his presentation, which will be a two-hour session delivered online to assist businesses through unchartered times.

The initiative is being coordinated by Inverell Shire Council and the free information session will allow locals to tap into Mr Spinda’s twenty years of experience in ecommerce and the world of businesses.

Mr Spinda says the current COVID pandemic has left many business owners concerned for the future and some being forced to close their doors due to government restrictions.

“While the current state may seem bleak, the reality is that amongst the negativity lies hope and opportunity”, Mr Spinda says.

“In this two-hour webinar, I will be joined by guest speakers to discuss strategies to help ride through the COVID landscape, and come out of it stronger as a person and a business”.

Council mayor Paul Harmon says businesses can register now and will also be able to send through any questions ahead of the webinar.

Along with a question and answer session, the webinar will include details on current business relief, issues around staff management and managing the business as well as preparing a strategy for the now and post COVID-19 market place.

Cr Harmon indicated Council will host a face-to-face visit from Mr Spinda once COVID-19 restrictions have relaxed, which will also include one on one consultations.

“Friday’s free webinar with Peter is open to all businesses in Inverell Shire, whether they are retailers, involved in the service industry or perhaps a home-based business”.

Those wishing to sign up can email council@inverell.nsw.gov.au with their business name, participant name, email address and contact phone number. Once registered, participants will be provided with the details to access the webinar.
