December Council Meeting

INVERELL Shire Council held its December Ordinary Council Meeting yesterday.
The following items were of note;
- > Mr Bob Rogers from Macintyre Lions, presented a cheque for $1,000.00 to Inverell Shire Council for a donation towards the construction of the Memory Garden in Victoria Park.
- > Council resolved to support the 2026 Swimming NSW regional meet at the new Inverell Aquatic Centre.
- > Council received correspondence from Member for Northern Tablelands, Brendan Moylan MP confirming his opposition to the proposed increases to Bulk Water Charges.
- > Council committed to the development of a 30-year Strategic Plan regarding Water and Sewage Services.
- > NSW Government has confirmed Council to be the new land managers of Rob Roy Reserve.
- > Council determined to provide in principle support for the establishment of Government owned banking services.
- > Council elected to provide support to the Back to Ashford Reunion in 2025.
- > Council received $1.4M to upgrade six (6) Netball courts at the Inverell Sports Complex.
Inverell Shire Council will hold its first meeting for 2025 in February.
