Exempt Development

Some development of a minor nature is ‘exempt development’ and therefore no application is required. The details of the types of development that are exempt are found in State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt & Complying Development Codes) 2008.

Examples of Exempt Development include:

  1. Barbeques;
  2. Stairs;
  3. Decks; and
  4. Garden Sheds.
