New Council Newsletter Launched
26 July 2016
RATEPAYERS across Inverell Shire will receive a copy of Council’s new Fit for the Future newsletter this week.
The July release of the publication allows council to share its 2015-16 achievements and also inform the community about plans for the next 12 months.
Council deputy mayor Anthony Michael says the newsletter details an array of projects throughout the shire, including investment in roads, water and sewer infrastructure and community facilities.
“Council was assessed as Fit for the Future back in October 2015 and the newsletter outlines our achievements during the first year of the program”.
“Significant outcomes during 2015-16 include delivery of the new Ashford Medical Centre, upgrades to Yetman Hall, extending the Inverell cycleway to over 14 kilometres and resheeting 113km of our gravel road network”.
“We have a number of exciting projects to be unveiled over the next twelve months such as new bitumen on Kings Plains Road and Stannifer Road, drainage upgrades and kerb and guttering at Gilgai, Ashford Sportsground’s amenities block and a new playground for Lions Park in Inverell”.
Cr Michael believes shire residents have reason to be positive about Inverell’s future.
“Inverell Shire is a vibrant population centre and this is reflected in the fact that we are one of the fastest growing inland communities in NSW”.
All ratepayers across the shire can expect to receive a copy of the newsletter in their mailbox this week, the newsletter also available to be accessed on our Council website via our Fit For The Future webpage.
